I seem to be doing well at the initial stages of incubating...

Then about day 14/15 and onwards the eggs seem to stop growing or by day 21 the eggs don't do anything and when I candle the chick hasnt moved and is dead.

I'm gutted as my daughters are looking forward to raising chicks.

Please help me

Hi there,

It is an automatic incubator and is sitting at 38'2

I'm kicking myself as i seem to get so close to chicks then fail...

That's a little high but not horribly so. 37.5 is about where it should be if it's forced air. If you're doing still air you're actually a little low and need it to be at about 38.6. I doubt it's the temperature though. What is the humidity? I suspect you have a humidity issue.

I wonder if the humidity is a bit too high. How did the eggs look when you candled them? Did they look like this?

Or were the air cells larger or smaller? Have you calibrated your hygrometer to make sure it's accurate?

Hi there,

thank you very much for the pic - i'll check the settings tmrw.

The pic seems to simulate the eggs up till day 14 then goes wrong and doesn't change.

Good luck! The only other thing I can think of is if your turner isn't operating properly. The eggs really need to be turned 180 degrees three times a day at least for proper vascularization to develop. I would check that too. I hope you can hatch some chicks!
