Can you help us out?
in pic #2 it looks like a black sex linked to me, but a roo.... female black sex link are all black
i could be wrong...i'm new to this
pic #1 looks almost like an EE. Mine had the same coloring only she has a blue tint to her feet. It may be a speckled sussex too
Another newbie here; I just want to guess and then see if I'm right when somebody who knows what they're talking about weighs in.
My guesses are;
EE and black australorp.
Lots of chicks are chipmonk colored. Post pics again in a few weeks.
Second chick is something barred, the head spot is a giveaway, I'm thinking barred rock pullet. .
I hope it is not a roo...we only wanted hens! Yikes!
Barred referrs to the color where there are black and white "bars" on the feathers. A bird can be barred with colors other than black, but it's unusual and your bird is definately black. Check the breeds for barred rocks.
Just checked, she does look like a Barred chicken...thank you
The second looks like a barred rock, maybe a dominique(can't see the comb well). If you can take a better pic of the comb it will be easier to identify.
