    Hi All!
I am new to raising chicks...but fortunately live where I can have a roo or two! Purchased a bunch of babies from the local feed store, but the young teen pulling the chicks out seems to have made some errors. I asked for two BR hens and 4 BA straight run chicks. Think I have all BRs! The only straight run they claimed to have had were BAs...and i dont have any! Any ideas on if I have roos in my mix up. If not ....[IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]I would like to get a few more straight run so I have at least one!

One great thing to do if you have not already is not go check out the Learning Center

And also check out the "Where Am I Where Are You" forum to find some people near you

Here is a picture I pulled off the internet of a Black Australorp chick that seems to be the same age as your chicks

And this one is a BR.

The 3 pictures showing up for me all look like Barred Rocks

And next time you go to the feed store to get chicks ask someone who looks like they would be knowledgeable to someone who knows what they are doing it will save lots of time and hassle!

Greetings from Kansas and [IMG]! Pleased you joined our flock! I have little faith in what most of the employees of farm and ranch stores tell me when it comes to chicken breeds and even less faith in what the signs say above the bins identifying the breeds. Hope your birds work out for you! Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC!!
