I checked some other threads but I'm looking for second opinions on which is which. I had an order of SS and welsummers, and I can't tell which is which. However my 4 yr old has gotten attached to one and keeps asking what it is. This chick is very quiet and calm.

So this is my "son's" chick, Brownie. I think its a welsummer but it seems very light. I should mention these came from Murray Mcmurray Hatchery.

Here is Brownie (facing away) with #2 chick which I think is a SS (facing camera)

I don't know if Brownie is a Wellie--I agree it's very light colored. But it's not a Sussex, Sussex have light/white legs and Brownie's are yellow.

It seems to me to depend on the lighting but all 11 of them seem to have yellowish pink legs, not white that's for sure
