I thought I would start this for fun since another thread was going about books and see what happens????

Just basically think about your top fav Movies and put them in order of preference starting with number 20 and write a bit about why you chose it. Then we can see what others come up with? When we get a good number of posts we can count up the most popular ones?

    Mine are:

    20) Titanic ( Of Course real girlie weepy can be watched over and over!)

    19) Captain Corellis Mandolin ( Because it explores different kinds of Love)

    18) Pearl Harbour ( Brings to life what it was like for girls thrown in at the deep end during the war)

    17) The Fugitive ( I like the way the main character fights for justice and you don’t really know if he is or is not guilty?)

    16) Follow the Rabbit proof fence ( Follows the injustice done to Aborigine children)

    15) Gone with the Wind ( Love the frocks worth watching just for that!)

    14) Last of the Mohicans ( 1826 novel – made into film. I loved the way one man gives his life in the place of the woman he loves and is meant to die by being burned but the other man stops and shoots him to save him from pain. It is sad but also a tale of sacrifice and love)

    13) Braveheart ( Mel Gibson movie – love the Mad Irishman he is brilliant!)

    12) A Tale of Two city’s (Black and white classic French revolution Charles Dickens –
fantastic story capturing the times and the fear and also the selfless acts of those who helped to save the lives of others)

    11) Saving Private Ryan ( It is the first Movie I saw that didn’t glorify war and told it how it really is. The pain and suffering and all that goes with war )

    10) Wind talkers ( Another good war movie which tells the story of the Native Indians role in the second world war)

    9) Mr Holland’s Opus ( Fantastic movie about a teacher who taught music to different generations of kids but failed to realise its importance to his own deaf son. Eventually he did!)

    8) Shawshanks Redemption ( I love the movie and that Shawshank eventually escapes and gets to keep his money too!)

    7) Shindlers List ( Based on a true story of a man who risked everything to save Jews by using his factory workers List!)

    6) Children of a lesser god ( The story of a deaf couple a re-make of the classic coward of the county type theme)

    5) Robin hood Prince of thieves ( Great film watched it over and over “ I will pull your heart out with a spoon - ! )

    4) Philadelphia ( Tom Hanks – about Aids and HIV )

    3) Not without my daughter ( Brilliant movie about a woman who was tricked by her husband into taking her daughter abroad to a muslim country and then had to escape cruelty and get her daughter out too.)

    2) A Time to kill ( About prejudice and racism and the rape of a child )

    1) Gandi – ( Wonderful film – classic and one that I would watch over and over again!)

Anyhow hope you enjoy doing this for a bit of fun

Swing Kids has to be on my list... past that I'll have to think.

Shall I focus on Moving Movies... or shall I include the funny ones too.

    Yes, much to think on.

Agree on Braveheart & Robin hood Prince of Thieves though I very much liked the new Robin Hood too... soundtrack is better in the first though.

I probably couldn't come up with 20 movie titles if I tried. I can't sit still through one.

Only one I will watch from beginning to end - We Were Soldiers and I'll [IMG] the whole time, every time.
