My broody hatched out a mixed bag from eggs that I got from a nearby farm. They are standard size and were from brown eggs. They were hatched on April 22nd and the lighter colored one (bird 1) still has some fluff on his thighs. Well I think it is a he, his comb got red and now is flesh colored again and now it seems that the one I think is a female (bird 2) has a red comb. Mixed breeds are sooooo hard to isentify sex

What is your educated guess?

That cutie is definitely a cross. Though it's hard to say with what. I'd say she's part Buff Orp, part Standard Cochin.

I vote pullet at this point, but it's hard to predict with crosses.

Yeahhhhh! So far each of you say pullets. Phewww! I didn't want to have to process either as I am happy with them both. Hatched out 5 and seemed to have gotten only two roos. A Polish (who was rehomed with his sister) and a Dutch who is like a little yard ornament. These two are perhaps Cochin/NH cross????

Pullets and they both look like the have one buff orpington parent, maybe a cochin with the first and someone red for the second?
