What breed and gender?

    I think this is a Dominique breed, but do not know if its a rooster or a hen ? Can anyone tell just by the pic? Thanks for the reply[​IMG]

    With the single comb I would vote the big rooster is a hatchery Barred Plymouth Rock.

    Yep, that is a barred Rock rooster. Dominiques have a rose comb and are lighter bodied.

    Definitely a BO rooster. I am really surprised he hasn't crowed yet, since you're asking for the sex.

    @ Studio 2270. Its my neighbors BO and she has said it crowed. I told her if its crowing its a rooster. Now I can tell her the news. Looks like I was wrong on the breed. I'm glad that's cleared up also. Thanks you.

    BTW, FYI, the initial BO usually stands for Buff Orpington...I agree 100% with the others that this is a Barred Rock (BR) rooster.
