I've received these two black chickens(most likely hens) from my grandpa in the mountains. They are both slender and the legs are macaular. They fly high to the trees and are very agile.
My other rooster Mochi seems young. Is he a leghorn? I've noticed my older roosters weren't leghorns. However, they were white but didn't have the full look like a leghorn does. What breed is my rooster and is he sexually mature yet? He also hasn't crowed yet.. I'm not sure how old he is because I received it from mutal friends. The birds from your Grandpa are gamefowl. The first one pictured is very likely a cockerel, and the second is a pullet. The leghorn cockerel is a pre teen. Leghorn cockerels tend to be sexually precocious, but he still looks a bit young.

Your rooster is a Leghorn, black pullets are game crosses.

x3 they are brown/red American game fowl. You'll want to keep the cockerel away from other roosters for their safety.

Is it possible it could be a California White? I've heard about one of those and they seem close

agree with Sourland. Love the photo of the leghorn with wings raised, you might want to enter that in "picture of the week," contest or others BYC has
