What breed are these girls?

Picked up these girls for free off of CL

and the owner said they came out of the same "litter"? They're not laying yet.

They may all be crosses of some kind. The white/black barred cross in the first pic looks like a rooster.

First one looks like a roo to me, I see saddle feathers.

i think larkspur and n5 are right - that 1st chook looks like a ROO for sure

I hope it's not a roo, means I'd have to get rid of him. There was a roo I rehomed that came with them born the same time and 2x the size.

Here is the pic I took of them in the car, the roo is in the middle. I rehomed him, the lady said the rest were female.

Those are Buff Orpington/Barred Rock crosses! They're colored just like the ones I hatched last year. Here's some pics of the hens (they just like Mei!):

I didn't get any pics of the roosters, but they looked just like Sasuki (and yes, Sasuki is a rooster, sorry).

A Buff Orpington rooster crossed with Barred Rock hens makes Sexlinks, which can be sexed by color. Males are barred and females are the buff/black color.

The little red pullet is not a Buff Orpington x Barred Rock. Got any better pics of her? (only if you want us to try and identify her)
