I have some eggs hatching soon from my Rhode Island Red hen and we have a Barred Rock rooster. I'm wondering what breed they are considered? I'm pretty sure they are not sex links because that is a RIR roo and a BR hen... or is that right?

Somebody help me out please [IMG]

They'll just be mutts. [IMG] Not sex-linked, no.

They'll all be barred, but with some reddish coloring on the breast and/or neck and shoulders.

Quote:But the hen has to be barred to make sex-links. The OP's roo is barred, so no sex-linkage. Barred with reddish leakage.

I know, but I was saying maybe they will look similar to the black stars.

They aren't going to be a breed. They are going to be barnyard mutts.
