What breed is this hen and both sets of chicks...two genders of same breed??
The chicks seems to me as red sex link chicks, the silver are males and the gold ones are females, the hen green/ gray shanks confuse me, I can not tell .
Is her color considered wheaten?
The hen is a game bird mix and is wheaten in color. Are the chicks hers?
Chicks are hers
I had two "game" eggs from the lady who has this hen. When hatched, one looked like a game bird the other looked like the silver ones above. I was curious what the heck they really were lol
If the chicks are biologically hers, they can't be sex linked. She's gold, not silver, so no sex linkage.
I agree she looks like a wheaton game hen. Without knowing possible sires, it's impossible to say what the babies are at this stage.
I know the sire and can get a photo...they free rang with one other hen at the feed store
