I have a little bantam chick that is a polish mix. Both brothers are white crested with yellow orange beaks and supper red wattles. I'm not sure if this one is a girl or boy but it is super small with no crest. All black with a bit of splash on the wing, from the polish. The comb, and beak and skin are all black. Hoping this may narrow it down. It is bantam..

Maybe a Black Japanese bantam or a Black Old English Game bantam?

I know she definitely is crossed with the polish. The came from the same bin and the both have the same markings on their bottom wings. They both have the same shape wings as well. The skin and beak/comb are very different though.

Looks almost exactly like my 2 7 week old Black Australorps (including the white feathering I see in her lower?under wing area) - I am def. no expert but I ordered 2 B.A.'s and got 2- and this is what they look like now!

If it was a polish mix it would have at least a small crest.

I'm positive it's part polish. I'll take some pics later so you can see the identical markings on my polish and on this one..

Markings don't make the breed, only the color. Most black chicks are going to look the same color-wise as chicks, including my black copper Marans chicks. But Polish have crests, and crests are partially dominant. Polish mixes have partial crests, and this bird does not.

Any feathers on the legs? Five toes? Can you get a better pic without the Polish photo-bombing [IMG] so we can see shape better? And where did they come from?
