This is our rooster named Roo. When we bought him he was supposed to be an Americana but all the pictures I can find of Americanas look nothing like him he doesn't have the beard. He was very friendly until not to long ago he started attacking us. He does have one son and the son looks almost exactly like him. Does anyone know what breed he might be?

No purebred coming to mind. I'd say he's very likely a crossbred.

New Hampshire red rooster or cross maybe. He's kind of light though so I'm not sure.

Thank you I pulled up some pictures of New Hampshire Red and that does look a lot like him.

I think he looks like a cross breed.

Wrong body shape, wrong leg color, and base color is to light for a pure New Hamp. Could be a cross I suppose.

Probably a Production Red or New Hampshire cross.

Most likely a mix. Possibly some Orpington in there, with those white legs, but I'm not an expert.

I'd agree a mix, likely a mix of mixes. Heavy on the Red, probably with some Orpington influence.
