What breed is he?

I have a rooster that I’ve had for over 3 years now, he came to us as a stray and we adopted him. I’m almost certain he is a buckeye, but his white tail feather streaks always throw me off telling me he could be a mix of something else. Is this possible? He’s a healthy bird, and has never had any health issues.

Rhode island/dominiq cross maybe? Just guessing..not sure..

It does look a lot like an RIR or Buckeye, not sure what it's crossed with though. It's not a dominique cross though

He's pretty spot on for a Buckeye. I don't know why there would be white streaking in the tail like that-- maybe an outcross some generations ago, or maybe just a hidden gene that cropped up.
