What breed? Is it a rooster?

    I hatched this guy from my uncle's fertile eggs. He told me he only had Rhode Island Reds but he doesn't look like one. I'm also suspecting he's a rooster since I've been acquiring fertile eggs. But he is the quietest bird in the flock.

    Nope I am only receiving light brown and dark brown eggs.

    Agree, that's a hen. No wonder "he's" quiet. EEs will give you brown eggs too.

    Delawares can be tough be those both look like hens. I would be suspicious of the silkie.

    I don't think it would be the silkie because I had a silkie rooster already it was her brother but I got rid of him.
