What breed is my hen?

This is Mammie, approx. 7 mos. old - all black, no white or tan, with a green lustre to her. Yellow legs with black and single comb that flops over to one side. Ideas???

I would say maybe a black austrolorp but they have blackish grayish feet. maybe it is a mixed breed. try looking it up on the internet. maybe go to black chicken breeds. Or get a chicken breed book. I will look in mine.

It might be a buckye but my book shows a picture of the hen and it does not have a big comb.

Looks a lot like my Blk Aussies... She may be a mix though... It's hard to tell with the all Blk breeds sometimes!

I looked up her description and she could be a Black Rock.

If Plymouth Rocks come in black – and I'm not all that sure that they do

– that would be my guess.

I am sorry I could not find that kind of chicken breed in my chicken brred book. It is probubly a mixed breed. GOOD LUCK! AND HAPPY VETERANS DAY!
