I am pretty sure it is a mix breed but any idea as to what breeds are in him.
Sort of hard to tell, but I would say a leghorn or white rock and RIR mix. Good looking bird though.
looks like either a hacthery white laced red cornish or a white laced red cornish cross
Thank you for your replies.
That is what they call a "Cinamon Queen". These are GREAT layers and have a nice docile personality. They are not as large as RIR, but bigger than a Leghorn. Nice looing one.
Thank you for your reply.
Was gonna say cinnamon queen as well but I wanted to add that I have been told that they are better egg layers as well.
Well I had never heard of a cinnamon queen so I had to check it out, its a RIRxsilver laced wy., picture I found didnt look exactly like it but it will probably put you on the right track.
Thank you for the Replies. Much appreciated.
OK....Cinnamon Queen FEMALES are good layers. That's a male and the reason he's not a cinnamon queen is because whoever did the cross, did it backwards. The females are supposed to have the coloration, while the males are supposed to be white with red feathers somewhere on the body. HOWEVER...if the male has XXY he could be carrying the sex-linked coloration.
Looks like you've got a BO cockerel next to him also.
