Hey all. My name is Adam and I am new to the forum and to chicken farming. We got pullets from Tracter Supply this Spring and the tag said New Hampshire Reds. I am thinking I got Golden Comets. Any thoughts?

    Thanks[IMG]

Hello, Adam, welcome to BYC. They indeed appear to be red sex links of some sort. TSC or their suppliers have been really good at misidentifying chicks this year.

They are very flighty yet curious. When they hear us open the door to go outside they come running almost flying for treats. We also have an assorted batch of bantams. 10 hens total! We have 3 acres and we let free range during the day and then lock them up at night. I converted an oversized shed as the coop. It works perfect!

    I think you're right.

Good news is, you don't have to guess on gender with anyone. They're all definitely female. And, they'll likely outlay the New Hampshires you were looking for.
