What breed is this?

    Hey y’all! I got these chickens from a family friend and I have no idea what breed they are, can anyone help me out?

    They look like Buckeyes, and the first picture is a rooster. They're a great breed (not the prettiest, but really sweet. The roosters are okay; it depends on the individual.) :)

    I'd hesitate to say buckeye yet... They don't have white earlobes. Can you get pics in sunlight?

    Look more like Cornish than Buckeyes to me.

    Still looks like a Buckeye to me, but @GreyFarms might be onto something. It looks like a little lacing, and feather color is a shade too dark. Anybody else have any ideas?

    If I were to guess, I would think they look more like Cornish than Buckeyes. But I've never had either breed, so don't take my word as gold. :confused:

    I'd have to agree with the Cornish assessement.

    Buckeyes are more mahogany with no lacing, and black only in the tail. They have red ear lobes and lay brown eggs. To me, the body shape is all wrong for a buckeye too.
