Splash are usually a byproduct of trying to get blue birds - breeding two blues throws 25% black, 50% blues and 25% splash in the chicks.

We just ordered some BBS Orpington eggs. Hoping to get at least one good blue and splash pullet out of the lot for keeps

We're urban, so all the extras have to go.

I agree, out of all the options available at Meyer, she looks most like a splash (BBS) Orpington (American type).

Wondering what breed this is. We received her in an assortment of brown egg layers in April. She's the only one that looks like this and I just can't figure out what breed she is!

Splash Orpington because you got her from Meyer hatchery when I ordered some blue Orpington form Meyer hatchery I got some splash Orpington because 25% is splash.
