What breed male or female help please

    Can you get a clear shot showing the bird from the side? I would really like a better look at what appears to be dark, glossy patches on the wingbow and to see the saddle feathers a bit better.

    Well, it is for sure a Rhode Island Red. I'm leaning towards rooster, the hackles are kinda long. If there are some shiny green/black feathers in the tail, it is a roo. I can't quite see from the angle of the pic.

    Thanks for the help, was hoping it was going the other way now I have to figure out what to do with the rooster since I already have a speckled Sussex roo and only two barred rocks pullets time to go bird hunting for some decent egg layers. I don't want the any birds getting overworked and injured
