What breed of cockerel is this?

I see dark blue, also. The leakage on the hackle feathers looks silver colored to me, but I'm on my crappy work laptop & colors look weird sometimes.

he's quite a handsome guy, that's for sure!

I seen the color leakage on his hackles as well and the leakage looks silver/ light gold to me as well.

Looks like he could be a Blue Australorp rooster, though not a very good show-quality one (yellow coloring on hackles; should be pure blue). It would help if we knew what color the bottoms of his feet were.

I really wish I could see this rooster in person now. I'd love to pick it up and peek at the feet to confirm it's a Blue Australorp.

He's impossible to pick up, just catching him to bring him to the allotment was bad enough.

I put pictures of these two cockerels on this page and people are saying they are the both Australorps, they look completely different so how can they be the same breed?

are they really the same breed? they are not giants, they are a medium size.
