This boy belongs to a friend and I'm curious what breed he is.
I can't really tell, very interesting comb, did you ask the owner if he knows the breed?
He looks like a mix. Cute bantam rooster.
He is definitely a mix. I would venture a guess that he is Sultan crossed with Leghorn. If he were purebred Sultan, his comb would be a V comb; his leg feathering would be heavier; his beard, muffs, and crest would be fuller; his vulture hocks would be more pronounced; and the skin on his legs would be a blue/grey. The yellow legs, large single comb feature, and white ears I think come from a Leghorn. 'Course I could be way off here but that's my guess.
I agree on a mix, looks like he has 5 toes also. Maybe a crevecoeur/dorking cross?
Quote:Wow, my first thought was Crevecoeur too! I think the other half might be silkie though. That's the only thing I can think of that explains the 5 toes you noticed, and the feathering on the legs. Granted I'm not an expert on either of those breeds
Good point on the feathered shanks. I change my guess to Sultan cross.
Quote:Agree on Sultan cross.
What a Kingly bird. Do I hear Chick-Fil-A calling??? Kick the spotted cows to the curb, I think we have a new spokes-chicken!!!
Yups, that's a Sultan cross.
