What breed/sex is this chicken

    I have a chicken I can't quite id. Its the largest one in the bunch and very sweet; also exactly 4 months old.

    for sure a roo? no wattles? no spurs? sweetest chicken in the bunch? That won't make my wife happy - we will have to get rid of it in that case. [​IMG]

    Yes, a Dark Brahma Rooster. Hens of that variety have a different plumage pattern. Since he appears to be young, that would explain why you don't see any spur development. Also, the Brahma breed doesn't have a large comb and wattles like other breeds. See those long, pointy feathers at the base of his tail? That's a dead give away that he's a rooster.
