What breed??

So I got 7 chickens from a friend about 6 weeks ago. They were supposedly 8 weeks when we got them. They are supposed to be red stars but I'm assuming second (or more) generation. So I don't think color will tell me gender. But this is definitely different from the others. Is it still considered a red star? New to this chicken life. Unsure of breed and gender.
