What breed of chickens do they raise for the small chicken wings and legs? I know I've had some with more meat than others. Is that from the breed, age at butcher, ect?
I think it is a little of both. My RIR's have large legs and wings and I have heard orpington's do also. Nancy
probably the same birds they raise for everything else..... cornish Xs. not to mention a cornish X will have small wings because they have no "use" for them, as they are too heavy to really fly.
it depends how much meat you want... cornish crosses are an excelent choice... 0 to 4 lbs is a roaster, which would have very small wings and legs or you could grow them out larger for more meat
just wondering, are you talking about the wings that have been sectioned and look like a little wing and a little leg (usually used for hot wings?)
Quote:that's what i was assuming they were talking about... the "wing" part and then the "drummy" leg part.
