she is young still= I know she is suppose to lay green eggs.
so what breed is she? I forgot.
She's most likely an EE (easter egger). Great chickens!!
x2 definitely looks like an easter egger, wow look at those bright green legs
Weird name. Is that the only name for her==just Easter Egger?
Thank you so much for helping me. I will be posting another questionable chicken also.
x 4 Easter Egger.
A lot of hatcheries & feed stores call them Araucanas or Ameraucanas, but they're really just Easter Eggers. They're wonderful birds, though. EEs are our favorites out of our standard-sized hens. Btw, she's very pretty.
She may have been sold to you as an Americana or an Aurucana but if you bought her from a hatchery, then she is an EE. EEs carry the blue/green gene, but they are from mixed parentage and they won't breed true, unlike Ameraucanas, and don't match the standard colors. I have a few EEs and they are great birds. Yours is beautiful!
Purebred amaracauna. An easter egger is a bird that lays green eggs but isn't purebred. an amaracauna is a green egg laying bird with dark legs and a beard.
Americana refreshed my memory. I was told it was Americana. I bought three of them from a local Feed and Seed Farm supply.
A beard? Would that be the bushy feathers off the side of their cheeks?
