What is the difference between a Barnevelder and a Golden Laced Wyandotte? What do I have? I thought it was a GLW but she laid her first egg Friday and it’s a large dark brown egg.

That's a Wyandotte, barnevelders have single combs, Wyandottes have rose combs which is what your bird has.

This is what a barnevelder looks like (not my bird)

They have different combs, and different color varieties.

Thanks. I took a good look at a picture of the Barnevelders feathers and they have more lacing to them. Just threw me since her first egg was so dark and LARGE.

Your hen is a hatchery quality Golden Laced Wyandotte.
