I am relatively inexperienced with chickens, yet I have been raising them for most of the past 5 years. Just curious as to what breed both of these guys are? I'm thinking the black one is a barred rock mix of some sort and the white one is possible a ameraucana mix or some sort of EE? I appreciate any info as to what the offspring from the white guy mixed with production reds would be? My wife asked if we could get some hens that lay "funky" eggs... meaning colours beside white or brown.[IMG]

The barred bird could be a Rock mixed with something white skinned, or a cuckoo Marans mix.

Hard to pinpoint a breed on the other bird. I'm not seeing any traits of an Easter egger--clean face, straight comb, not classic EE coloring. I"m thinking chances of colored egg laying offspring is pretty small.

Ok thanks I was hoping for funky eggs but that's ok either way just means I'll have to get a new hen that does lay coloured eggs just for her... thanks again!
