Its amazing what different lighting shows. He looks more like a Welsummer here, or possibly a Dark Brown Leghorn.

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with that picture usually he won't even come close to me for me to get a picture

He definitely has a lot of deep, rich red in him - this is one I would want to watch for the next few weeks and see how his plumage looks after another juvenile molt or two, they can change a lot in 3-4 weeks.
