I like to paint animals and birds so I went to a local farm and took some photos of chickens to paint. But I know nothing about chickens so I have no idea what kinds these are. I would like to be able to name them in my painting descriptions.

I tried to look around online but it's hard to find identify them when you generic descriptions like "black and brown". lol
The first one looks like either a Dominique or Barred Rock but I don't know how to tell them apart.

The rest I have no idea even how to search for them. Anyone know?
    Thanks!

Is "silkie cross" a breed? Or are you saying it's a cross breed between a silkie and something else?

For the Barred Roo. . . Dominique have Rose combs. . . This roo has s straight single comb. The Bars seem more Cucko patterned, less like the Barred Rock. He could be a Marans, but he could also be a Barrred Holland.
