    Hi,

I got a chicken at the last swap in Dunnellon, Fl. I know it has Brahma in it and was told that it was White Orp in it as well... I know it's a mixed because it's legs are only half feathered but not sure what else it could have in it. Here are pictures:

I got the feet because I know Jersey's have that leg coloring with the yellow feet

If it wasn't for the yellow on the neck and the half feathered legs I'd swear she was a pure Black Brahma, but I'm not sure with those 2 oddities.

Could it be a black copper maran?

I doubt there is Brahma in that hen. Her single comb is too good.

That looks alot like her. I hadn't considered that because it was in with a bunch of Brahma/Orp crosses and the guy was positive that it was part brahma.

Quote:The legs look slate-y to me, which is the correct color for a Black Copper. Like the OP said, they were not sure what mix this hen was. It may not be a pure Maran, but it looks dag on close. Did the person you got her from happen to order from McMurray? If so, she may have been their free rare chick!

More pics for comparison on feathersite .

The person we got her from had no idea how she showed up. She was the around same age as the rest of the birds in the pen at the sale, just an odd colored one and didn't know where it came from, just popped up.
