We live in France (having moved from America) and unless we want to drive for hours we have to buy local farm stock: French 'rousses'. Does anyone know anything about these chickens? We know they're layers and basic info like that but some more would be appreciated [IMG] Thank you (We had chickens in America before the move)

"Rousse" is the French word for "red," so they are reddish feathered chickens; most likely Rhode Island Reds or Production Reds. If that's the case, they will definitely be cold hardy and good layers.

If you can, post a pic for us after you get them.
