what chicken lays skinny long eggs

Hello I saw in the (what do you do with you eggs thread) that there was a long tall skinny egg and I wanted to know what type of chicken lays eggs like that and I think others will like to know to, thank you.

No particular breed - individuals within all breeds occasionally produce unusually shaped eggs.

How often is that or is it that some chickens lay weird eggs all the time if so how common ar the wierd egg laying chickens, thank you.

I don't know how often it happens in general, but one of my girls always lays a long skinny egg and another lays almost spherical eggs every time. The other four just lay normal egg shaped eggs.

In our mixed flock, one RIR lays long narrow eggs and the other normal shaped one. There's nothing wrong with the long narrow egg, it's just the way she has them.

Ditto all above....I have one EE that lays long skinny eggs.

Everyone's egg shape is unique to an extent.

Had someone tell me long skinny egg would always hatch out males, proved them wrong with a 50/50 split on a hatch of 6 of them.

We have an Ameracauna who tends to lay the long skinny eggs frequently. So far, most have been double-yolkers. Not sure if there's a connection with the length of the egg and the double-yolk or if it's just coincidence.
