He is 2 1/2 to 3 months old.. I was told lavender, but I don't know what that's considered... I have 3 black Pied hens and 3 blue hens and got him for breeding. Is that considered a silver type gene? All the silvers I see look metallic cream

He looks lavender. Are those patches on his wings actually darker or is it just the lighting? He's very handsome.

That portion of his wing does appear slightly darker.. This picture doesn't have as much shadow to it.

I was just looking at your drakes photos again. I have three very young lavender hens, they have not hit their adult molt. I'm new to lavender and trying to learn as much as I can, so i'm very interested. The only question after reading about self blue, lavender, is that generally they are very even in feather coloring and tone. Learycow is kind of a cult muscovy breeder color and pattern guru.......if you could get feedback from leary, it's golden.

I actually woke up in middle of the night worried that it might be pestering, to ask a specific person a question instead of forum as a whole.[IMG]

Maybe someone would know if Lavenders fade from the sun like black, blue and chocolate? New feathers come in Darker?
I also notice some of my gals don't have solid gray feet. Can you have a self colored self blue?
Do loonies only come in ripple colors or all standard ones?
    Atipico lavender?

That's the purpose of the tags to get individuals attention, learycow has always been wonderful to give information. I know nothing about genetics. [IMG]
