What color is my Silkie going to be?

I get those too, the red and gray, or red and black. I haven't had an adult yet, so I can't wait to find out. you know you can never really tell what color they are going to be until they get older.

But I got 3 chicks out of 6 Silkie eggs that where shipped so I'm happy. You can see the little black one in the first picture.​

I have a chick that hatched from a black hen and white rooster. The chick looks partidge. Had another chick from the same hen came out a lil different was white with black spots. Its feathering out partidge so I am gussing the mixture of the colors would cause a partidge chick. Not by standard but that the colors combined and cause a multicolored chick.

Looks like a light colored partridge.

I wish they stayed looking that way into adult hood. If they did I would defiantly like the variety.

My guess is she's got a a black one and a red one breeding together somewhere. I know I just let my silkie's run together, and that's the same exact colors I get. Plus some white in there. I'll try to get some pictures of my little ones to show you.

I know that's the fun part. I don't keep my colors seperated just for that purpose.
