Splash is a light blue with black "splashes" in the feathering. It is a result of the Andalusian blue gene. When you breed blue chickens you will get some that are Blue, some that are black and some that are splash.

Someone will come along and explain it better than I have.

His parents were either Blue or Splash, or one of each.

Blue X Blue makes : Splash, Blue and Black.

Splash X Splash makes : Splash

Black X Black makes: Black

Black X Splash makes: Blue

Black X Blue makes : Black and Blue

It can get complicating,lol.

Shades of high school genetics, pun intended! It is complicated. So I will just continue to call Georgie a silkie of mixed color.

To me it looks like a grey or silver male, the females look like silver phoenix, the males are white I think. Can you ask the breeder what colors they have so you know what colors it could have in it?
