What color is my Ameracauna? Thanks.
Pretty sure she is Wheaton or however you spell it. Very pretty too.
That's an Easter Egger, not an Ameraucana. Just like my six:
Very common coloring for EE hens.
These are the APA standard colors for pure Ameraucanas:
Yes it is, I have 2 Wheaton, the rest are blue, white with a grey head, columbian colored kinda, and white with alot of orange on her chest. I just love EEs and all the different sizes shapes and colors they come in.
I have one the same color very pretty. Three year old calls her 'buttercup'
Ohhh -- she's pretty! I have one that is just a little lighter than yours. She is my best broody Mama hen too I have two others, one Buff and one Blue & Buff colored. They are all Easter Eggers though, I think.
That doesn't look anything like a wheaton Ameraucana.
I'd call her color "cloudy sunrise". She's lovely but not an Ameraucana and not wheaton.
Quote:Ok so I was wrong, sometimes that happens. But your right she is an EE, and very pretty! And I think EEs are great one reason is because of all the variety you get with them! And not just the "standard" colors.
She is a very pretty EE, but I don't think there is a name for her coloring. I love EEs too and here are a couple of mine with similar coloring to yours:
These 3 pullets are Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas:
Here is a side view of my Wheaten Ameraucana:
