I can't tell if it is a weird looking splash or a self-blue (lavender). There is a white behind it for comparison. There are 2 nice splashes in there also and this one doesn't have any "spots"...just that odd color at the back. Don't mind their topnots...they have baby rubberbands in them so they can see. They actually have HUGE topnots. These babies are 3 months old.

Here it is with better color:

The colour in the photo isn;t great, but it looks likely to be lavender.

I bought eggs off eggbid.com from 123footie. Her silkies are separated by color and she sent a dozen ++ from various pens. She didn't say anything about having lavenders...but I didn't ask either. I will say that they were gorgeous babies with huge topnots when they hatched. I'll let her know about this particular baby.

OK...do I have to breed this cockerel to a lavender pullet to get more lavenders? It looks like I have 2 whites and 1 splash pullets and this lavender, one splash and one blue cockerel.

    Yes, self-blue is lavender--synonyms.

One of those flight feathers looks like it has a darker blue streak running down one side of the shaft... I am a nobody, but I say super light splash.
