If it is a coturnix quail.
It is a BR549 color (WHITE) coturnix.

It is a jumbo (WILD PATTERN) white coturnix, that expresses a random convergence of genes in it's coloration. (Calico/BR549).

If it is any other species of quail....I have no idea!

Maybe if people would say ""My bobs/coturnix/button/Vally/what ever...instead of "My Quail"! It would waste far less time. I'm just saying!

    So,
Is that where the term "pied" would come in?

The whole tux/pied thing confuses me.

Tuxedo and pied are interchangeable to be honest. When the tuxedo pattern came about it was called tuxedo but then the original coloring was pied, so Tuxedo pied. There are some that are three toned color and a couple toned color but not really tuxedo, those are just pied.

    O.K.!
    Got it now! [IMG]

With my cockatiels , pied was 2 or 3 colors at random/blotchy, so that's why 'pied' with the Tux was confusing.

I can't wait to see this bird feather out!
