I found on the internet they should be white. I thought they were not laying yet until I got 4 brown eggs one day, then the next, and I only have 2 silkie hens aside from the point of lay polish hens. The polish I figure are laying are White crested Blacks, though I have one buff laced who may start as well (the other buff laced is my sickly one, I doubt she will lay) thought that buff laced is a bit "off" too.

So are these polish suppose to be laying brown eggs?? They are a beautiful creamy light brown, a shade lighter than the silkies, very nice and tasty, but are these pure polish then? They came from Meyer Hatchery.

    Ideas? Polish owners?

Maybe they are silkie eggs? My polish didn't lay until she was 30 weeks old. They seem to take an extra long time to lay. My silkies laid earlier

Definitely white. Egg color is determined by ear color - strange [IMG]

VERY STRANGE?? I can't imagine the silkies are super layers, and they never leave the floor, and I always find one egg in the up high nesting box where one WCB has been hanging out. I am SO confused! We are talking white, like store-bought eggs?

I have black white crested polish, blue polish and gold laced polish hen they all lay a medium white egg. My polish are not that old so I assume the eggs will get alittle larger in time but theyare white just like you buy in the stores.

They lay white, but I've heard they can be off-white, too.

    Hi,

I have one Polish hen and her eggs are white, but not as bright as those I get from the Leghorns. They are more pointy, too. Hope this helps! Genie
