I bred my black ameraucana roo to a lavender hen. The chicks were black when born, but now at 12 weeks+ seem to be getting lighter more grayish feathers. Will they be black or lighten up? It was suggested to me when I was looking for ameraucanas to breed the lavender back to black. Why? I didn't think to ask that question at the the time
