i put 30 eggs in they started to hatch out of 30 two hatched what did i do wrong. temp started at 99.5 humidty at 70% this is what they all looked like when i open them any ideas? is this what there belly is suppose to look like? and the two that made it are not very active?
humidity wasn't that high the hole time i kept the humidity at 35% and on the 18th day i put more water in and made it 65 to 70 they hatched right one schedule
re the stomach: That's an unabsorbed yolk, and it shouldn't look like that after they hatch. It looks like the humidity was too high - the head of the chick is swollen. When that happens, they can't move and get in a position to pip. Good luck with your others! -Spooky
Looks like they died before absorbing the yolk to me ???? Did you have any temp spikes ? Sorry your hatch didn't go well.
Click on the Index (upper left corner). Then go to Learning Center (upper left corner). You can read up on incubating and hatching. Depending on your incubator, your temps may've been too low and they didn't develop correctly. Hard to say. Were these your eggs, or were they shipped? That makes a difference, too.
how many days did you wait to break the unhatched ones? they look almost ready... I'm sorry they all didn't hatch I hope the ones that did are ok?
i am using a little giant still air. this the second batch i have done but they were not my eggs they were given to me by a friend they were rir and the first batch i ever did were my own eggs and i had a 99% hatch. could it of been the eggs were bad or some thing to that nature? cause i did it the same way i did the first time. the ones that i broke open you could see its beak and one was almost out it had broke the shell 90% of the way i have a couple left in there that have cracked the shell i am going to leave them in there to see what happens
