What do we have here?

    This interesting bird was included in one of McMurray's "exotic" specials. It's a feather-footed bird whose breed should be pretty obvious, but we can't match it to the list of what McMurray offers. She (or he??) is still quite young at 16 weeks. The color is basically black with reddish-brown wings and rump [​IMG]

    and a brown head. There is a tuft of white near the tail, and green feathers (which do not show up very well in the photos) are beginning to appear in the tail, some wing feathers,and base of the neck. Also, although it's supposed to be a hen, I'm starting to wonder if she's a rooster. Opinions welcome!![​IMG]

    That looks like a roo to me! Maybe a Cochin?

    Out to pasture
    red over wings and that comb says cockerel to me. The shape is cochin, interesting coloration
