Hi, we did have 6 hens, and one was a Barred Plymouth Rock, but sadly one day we walked out to clean the coop and she was dead under the roost.

She was one of our favorites, and she was 23 weeks old and had just gotten her comb and wattle and was almost ready to lay, so sadly we never even got an egg from her.

We found out that she had gotten an impacted crop but there were no signs of it until we saw her dead on the coop floor. In fact, we were even holding her 2 days before she died and she seemed normal. Long story short, we started off with 7 hens, and now we've lost two, so we currently only have 5 hens in a coop/run that fits 8 hens. So we definitely want to get 1 or 2 more. (Dont worry, we know all about quarantine) We've been researching and trying to find the right breed for us to add, and one of the most gorgeous and well recommended breeds was the White Plymouth Rock. I've read that they are steller egg layers, very sweet, and would be great to replace our Barred Rock. I also love the white color! Does anybody have any experience with White Plymouth Rocks? Also, some photos of yours would be great! Thanks!
