What do you do with a Purple Martin house during large storms?

I got 2 Purple Martin houses yesterday, I am going to set them up today. I did a lot of research to figure out the best spot to place them. I ended up deciding to put them out in my asparagus field, far away from the trees but near my house and near human activity, we are out there for at least an hour a day picking. I was kinda wondering what I should do during thunderstorms, I mean a 15 foot pole in the middle of a open field is just asking to be struck by lightning... Do you think it would be alright to lower the house down to 5 feet during a big storm, would this affect the Martins?

I will go ahead and do it, if you are concerned about the storm. Normally purple Martin house are actually being move up and down, for parasite check up/cleanup and Martins are ok with it. Reason they’re more apt to reside closer to people’s homes for protection, snakes are more of their bother than people.
