What do you prefer to own: Feather-legged French Marans or Clean-legged English Marans?

Probably clean legged Marans because they are easier to care for and easier to clean for shows.

Since I only breed for eggs it doesnt matter much. I do like them to have feathered legs though. If I were to show mine I would definitely prefer the feathered legs since that is what the standard calls for

There are two standards: French and English. The French calls for feathered legs and the English calls for Clean legs. Both are correct standards.

I have 1 black Copper Marans. I swore I'd never have chickens with feathered feet. I couldn't resist the chance for such

Couldn't resist the chance for such a pretty chicken who also lays chocolate eggs. Hubby still questions my sanity. Winter will tell. Any advice/insights?
