My very first duck was a blue swedish drake - the SWEETEST duck ive ever owned. I could go out and pick him up out of the pool whnever i wanted. but then agan he was my only duck so we bonded. But still - very sweet.

My family had a blue swede drake who was named "Dinner" for obvious reasons. He was so sweet, my brother-in-law couldn't do the deed when the time came. Dinner lived on to make many little Dinners. 'Nuff said.

I raised Blue Swedish back many years ago when I was a 4-Her and I loved them. Some of mine were exceptionally nice ducks. My "pet" duck for several years was a Swedish. If you are looking for a calm, dual-purpose breed that is attractive, they are a great option.
