They are finnishing molting, but what do you Think.
I don't know RIR but they seem a bit dark or is it the camera?
Quote:I think Show Quality RIR are very dark red almost black looking. I think there very pretty chicken master.
SQ RIRs should be very dark, almost black in the shade. It's the production birds that are lighter and most commonly seen.
I think their color looks quite good. However, I'm not an expert.
Yes, SQ RIRs are supposed to be very dark, Here are some that I posted of William Bennett's SQ RIRs. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=264462
well I just learned something then - if those aren't the loveliest things I have seen today I don't know what was - Awesome, luxurious even!
Thanks for all the comments
RIR's should be some what dark... Around the color of a Bing cherry or blood red...
I would like to see a picture of them in the day that would give a better example of the true color..
There not that bad... If you want a good true answer ask NYREDS on here or you can post a pic over at http://mattlh.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=redforum there are some good RIR breeders over there..
