Just wanted to share some pics of what was sold to me as Red Sussex.
I am almost positive that these birds are indeed Dominate Red Sussex, and not that of a cross. But after speaking with some family and sharing these pics on other boards I am wondering what others think based on these pics.

These are supposed to be Red Sussex from a UK bloodline.

Just curious and would like to hear some feedback.

Yep the legs look yellow and the birds look like New Hampshire Reds. Red Sussex are pretty rare here and the few that we do have arent very good quality. But yours are too light to be red Sussex and their Columbian pattern isnt quite strong enough.

This is all really helpful, informative and fun at the same time.

I have to look up Welsummers.....

I was told that they have the Sussex bloodlines from the UK in them, but from what others are saying they are not 100% purebred as that would be next to near impossible especially on this side of the pond. As for their legs they are not heavily tinted yellow but have some yellowish tinting to them.
When I compare them to my Columbia Rock the leg's look very pale yellow, but the color is there

It is nice to get others opinions on these birds. Thank you all.

They are just wonderful additions to our flock!

although the hackle on this bird looks rather different as well, some suggested a Delaware.???
